MVM: Paks Nuclear Power Plant – How does it work?

Produced by Focus Fox (2022)

PixieBug Studio was commissioned to refresh the content and visuals of an old 3D animated film showcasing the operation of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant. Since the original animation files were not available, the decision was made to completely recreate the film with a modern, clean, and more accessible visual style.

Instead of using 3D techniques, we applied an isometric perspective; however, the illustrations were actually created in 2D by Gábor Adonyi. The animation was executed by our colleague Bence Hegybíró, ensuring informative and well-directed motion that aligns with the theme. As part of the project, an English-language version of the film was also produced.

The film provides a clear explanation of how the Paks Nuclear Power Plant operates and its crucial role in Hungary’s energy supply. It presents the energy production process, safety systems, and environmental measures that ensure the plant’s sustainable and reliable operation.

The goal of the animation is to bring this complex topic closer to the general audience by visually engaging and making it easily understandable—demonstrating why the Paks Nuclear Power Plant is an essential player in Hungary’s energy infrastructure.
